I'm building a hovercraft for use in North Dakota primarily for ice fishing in temperatures from 20 above to 30 below. Besides the usual wear and tear, does anybody have any experience with whether vinyl coated nylon -or- neopreme coated nylon -or- polyurethane coated nylon will stand up better in repeated exposure to frigid temperatures?
I'm planning an insulated enclosure for overnight sleeping on the ice so the skirts will have ample time to stiffen up from the cold and even partially freeze down. If you run in open water and then set down on ice/ground, can you literally freeze down so tight you can't move?
Has anyboby ripped a skirt trying to lift from a frozen surface?
Thanks.

thanks for a very helpful response! You mentioned using plastic bolts on the wear areas of the fingers or bag. I'm not familiar with that option. More info please.
